According to new research published in the Journal of Sexual Medicineour spinning habit could be wrecking our sex lives. Researchers polled 48 runners and cyclists to look at the impact of exercise on the pelvic floor over time. The women studied all cycled and ran at least 10 miles per week, so they were getting a lot of groin on bike seat contact.
The showed that spending time on bikes impacted vaginal and labial sensation, making it trickier to orgasm. Researchers noted that certain cycling positions were worse for the vagina for others. Cyclists who used bikes with the handlebars positioned lower than the saddle which is the way many exercise bikes in spinning classes are deed were likely to suffer a more ificant loss of sensation in their vaginas and vulvae.
So try not to spend too much time spinning or cycling and stick to vagina-friendly cardio, like running, instead.
